Audi Repair & Service in San Ramon
Audis pack a lot into one car: turbocharged engines, quattro all-wheel drive, dual-clutch or automatic transmissions, and a dashboard full of electronics. When everything works, they're great to drive. When something doesn't, you want someone who knows the platform. Adolph's Autohaus has repaired European cars in San Ramon since 1996. We're a family-owned shop with Nico and Spiro on the team, and Audi is a big part of what we do.
Common Audi Problems We Look For
Whether you drive an A4, A6, Q5, Q7 or an S or RS model, these are some of the issues Audi owners run into most:
- Oil consumption and PCV issues. Some 2.0 TFSI engines, especially from around 2009 to 2012, are known for burning oil. A failing PCV valve or oil separator can cause leaks, whistling or rough running on many Audi engines.
- Timing chain and tensioner wear. A rattle on cold start is worth checking quickly on engines known for tensioner problems.
- Carbon buildup. Direct-injection engines can build up carbon on the intake valves, which leads to misfires and a rough idle.
- Water pump and thermostat housing leaks. Plastic cooling parts are a common source of coolant leaks and low-coolant warnings.
- Ignition coils and spark plugs. A flashing check engine light often means a misfire, and coils and plugs are frequent causes.
- Transmission and quattro service. S tronic and other transmissions need their fluid serviced on schedule. Shudder or hesitation should be diagnosed early.
- Electrical faults. MMI glitches, sensor faults and warning lights need proper scan tools to sort out.
Audi Maintenance
We follow Audi's factory schedule for oil services, filters, spark plugs, brake fluid, coolant and transmission service. We'll also tell you about any wear we notice on brakes, suspension or belts, so you can plan ahead instead of being surprised.
Why a European Specialist for Your Audi
Audi shares many engines and parts with Volkswagen and Porsche. Working on these cars every day means we know where the common failures are and how to test for them. Our professional-grade diagnostic equipment helps us find the actual fault before we recommend a repair. You won't be paying for parts that don't fix the problem.
As a family shop, we keep the conversation straightforward. Reviews of Adolph's Autohaus often mention the family's honesty. We'll explain what we found, what's urgent and what can wait.
Audi Models We Work On
We service Audi sedans, wagons and SUVs, including the A3, A4, A5, A6, A7 and A8, the Q3, Q5, Q7 and Q8, the allroad, and S and RS performance models. Many of these share engines, transmissions and electronics with Volkswagen and with each other, so the experience carries across the lineup. If you drive an older Audi or something less common, call us with the year and model and we'll tell you whether we can help.
