A Land Rover or Range Rover is a capable, comfortable SUV, and it's a complicated one. Air suspension, all-wheel-drive systems and a lot of electronics all need to work together. Adolph's Autohaus is a family-owned European repair shop in San Ramon, open since 1996. Our family team (George, Nico and Spiro) services Land Rover and Range Rover models along with the German makes we know well.
Common Land Rover Problems We Look For
Whether you drive a Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Velar, Evoque, Discovery or Defender, these are some of the issues owners run into most:
- Air suspension. Many models ride on air springs. A truck that sits low on one corner, a "suspension fault" message or a compressor that runs a lot usually means a leak, a worn air spring or a tired compressor.
- Coolant leaks. Plastic coolant pipes, water pumps, thermostat housings and expansion tanks are common leak points, especially on V8 and V6 engines. Overheating is hard on these engines, so leaks are worth fixing early.
- Oil leaks. Valve cover gaskets, oil cooler seals and other seals can seep with age.
- Timing chain wear. Some supercharged V8 engines are known for timing chain and guide wear. Rattling or timing-related fault codes should be checked promptly.
- Electrical and battery drain. These SUVs have a lot of modules, and a weak battery can trigger warnings that seem unrelated. We test the battery and charging system before we chase other faults.
- Brakes and parking brake. Pads, rotors and electronic parking brakes need regular attention, especially on heavier models.
Land Rover Maintenance
We follow the factory schedule for oil services, filters, spark plugs, brake fluid, coolant, and differential and transfer case fluids where they apply. Regular service is the best way to keep a Land Rover dependable. We'll also point out worn suspension parts, leaks or other items so you can plan ahead.
Why a European Specialist for Your Land Rover
Land Rovers punish guesswork. Many problems show up as a warning message that could come from several places. Professional-grade diagnostic equipment and experience with European systems help us track down the real cause, so you're not paying to replace parts one at a time.
We're a family shop, and we try to be honest about the numbers. If an older Range Rover needs a big repair, we'll explain what it involves and help you decide whether it makes sense. Reviews often mention our family's honesty, and that's how we want it.
What to Tell Us When You Call
Tell us your model and year, any messages on the dash, and whether the vehicle is sitting level. A photo of the warning message can help. That way we can tell you whether it's safe to drive in.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you repair Range Rover air suspension?
Yes. We diagnose air suspension faults, including leaking air springs, lines, valves and compressors, and we repair what's actually failing.
My Range Rover is sitting low on one corner. Can I drive it?
It depends on how low it sits and what the dash is telling you. Call us and describe the warning. If it's very low, don't drive it far. Arrange a tow to our shop.
Which Land Rover models do you work on?
We work on Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Velar, Evoque, Discovery, Discovery Sport and Defender models. Call with your year and model if you want to confirm.
Why does my Land Rover keep showing different warning lights?
A weak battery or a charging problem can cause several unrelated warnings on these SUVs. We start by testing the battery and charging system, then scan the modules.
Do you do wheel, rim or glass work?
No. We don't do rim, wheel or glass work. We focus on mechanical repair, maintenance and diagnostics.
