Porsche Repair & Maintenance in San Ramon

Some Porsche owners drive every day. Others save the car for weekends on Mount Diablo Scenic Boulevard or a run out Highway 84. Either way, a Porsche needs someone who understands how it's put together. Adolph's Autohaus is a family-owned European repair shop in San Ramon, open since 1996. Our family team (Nico and Spiro) works on Porsche sports cars and SUVs alongside the other European makes we service.

Common Porsche Problems We Look For

The issues depend a lot on the model and engine, so we start with your car's history. Some of the better-known trouble spots:

  • Early water-cooled 911, Boxster and Cayman engines. Owners of these generations often ask about the intermediate shaft (IMS) bearing and cylinder bore wear. We can inspect, talk through the signs to watch for, and explain your options honestly.
  • Cooling system. Coolant pipes, water pumps, thermostats and radiators wear with age. Some Cayenne V8 models are known for coolant pipe leaks in the engine valley.
  • Air-oil separator (AOS). A failing AOS can cause smoke at startup, oil consumption or a rough idle.
  • Oil leaks. Rear main seals, valve cover gaskets and other seals can seep as the miles add up.
  • Ignition. Spark plugs and coils are regular service items, and a misfire should be checked promptly.
  • Suspension and brakes. Worn control arms, bushings, shocks, pads and rotors all change how a Porsche feels on the road.

Porsche Maintenance

Porsche maintenance intervals vary by model and year. We follow the factory schedule for oil services, filters, spark plugs, brake fluid, coolant and transmission fluid, including PDK service where it's called for. If you don't drive the car much, we'll talk about time-based items like brake fluid and fluids that age even when the car sits.

We also handle engine and transmission repair, exhaust work and computer diagnostics with professional-grade equipment.

Why a European Specialist for Your Porsche

Porsches reward careful work and punish shortcuts. Knowing where to look, which parts are worth replacing together, and how to test before replacing anything is what keeps a repair bill sensible. European cars are all we focus on, and we've been doing it for decades.

We're also a family shop. You'll get a straight explanation of what we found. Reviews of our shop often point to our honesty, and we take that seriously with every car, from a daily Macan to a garage-kept 911.

Before You Bring Your Porsche In

If you have them, bring your service records. They tell us what's been done and what may be coming due. Let us know about any modifications too, such as an aftermarket exhaust, suspension or engine software. They can change how we diagnose and service the car. And if something only happens when the car is warm, or only at speed, tell us. A good description saves time.

Areas We Serve

You'll find us at 23 Beta Ct B, San Ramon, CA 94583, a short hop from I-680 at Crow Canyon Road. We welcome Porsche owners from San Ramon, Danville, Dublin, Pleasanton, Walnut Creek, Alamo and Livermore. We don't offer towing or mobile service, so plan to drive the car in. Frequently Asked Questions

Which Porsche models do you work on?

We work on Porsche sports cars and SUVs, including the 911, Boxster, Cayman, Cayenne and Macan. If you have something older or unusual, call us and we'll let you know.

Can you inspect my car for IMS bearing concerns?

We can inspect the car, review its history and explain the options for your engine. We won't push a repair you don't need.

How often should a Porsche that isn't driven much be serviced?

Even low-mileage cars need time-based service. Oil and brake fluid age while a car sits. We'll go over your car's schedule with you.

Do you service PDK transmissions?

Yes. We perform scheduled transmission service, including PDK fluid service where the factory schedule calls for it.

Do you do wheel or tire work on Porsches?

No. We don't do rim, wheel or glass work. We focus on mechanical repair, maintenance and diagnostics.
